On September 11, 2025, at approximately 5:27 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a break and enter at a commercial business on Main Street West, Ridgetown.
Through investigation, video surveillance, K9 tracking and municipal CCTV footage, officers learned that a pickup truck had reversed into the storefront windows, causing extensive damage estimated at $60,000. Two individuals were observed exiting the vehicle, entering the business and removing a large quantity of merchandise at approximately $10,000 before fleeing the scene.
At 6:50 a.m., officers located the suspect’s vehicle and further investigation led officers to a nearby residence in Chatham.
At 7:50 p.m., members of the Emergency Response Team and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant of the residence, resulting in the seizure of several items connected to the break and enter.
One suspect, a 50-year-old male from Chatham, was located and arrested. He was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
Further investigation led to the identification and arrest of additional individuals involved in the incident – a 41-year-old male from Windsor, a 42-year-old male from Leamington and a 43-year-old female from Chatham.
As a result of the investigation, the accused have been charged with the following offences:
A 50-year-old male was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine
A 41-year-old male charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Breaking and Entering – Commit an Indictable Offence
A 42-year-old male was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Breaking and Entering – Commit an Indictable Offence
- Fail to comply with Undertaking
A 43-year-old female was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by crime Under $5,000
