The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Arrest, Breach of Probation – CK25062675

Date: October 16, 2025, Time: 09:07 hrs, Location: Chenal Rd, Wallaceburg

On October 16, 2025, at approximately 09:07 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a traffic complaint involving a male operating an ATV on private property. Officers located the ATV and the driver, a 48-year-old male from Wallaceburg.

Further investigations revealed that the individual possessed a suspended driver’s licence and was in the possession of alcohol and cannabis, which breached his conditions.

Subsequently, he was charged with the following offences:

  • Driving while Under Suspension
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with a scheduled court date of November 26, 2025.

Arrest, Mischief – CK25062706

Date: October 16, 2025, Time: 10:17 hrs, Location: King Street, Chatham

On October 16, 2025, at approximately 10:17 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of two individuals involved in a physical altercation in a parking lot on King Street, Chatham.

During the incident, damage was caused to a nearby parked vehicle.

Officers located both individuals, a 39-year-old male from Chatham and a 57-year-old male from Dover Township.

Officers had reasonable grounds to arrest and charge both individuals with the following offence:

  • Mischief Under $5,000

The individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where they were released with conditions and a scheduled court date.

Theft – CK25062805

Date: October 16, 2025, Time: 19:07 hrs., Location: McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg

On October 16, 2025, at approximately 19:07 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft from a local retail store on McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg.

Investigation revealed that two individuals had fled on foot from the store with various merchandise without attempting to pay.

Through the use of surveillance footage, the suspects were identified as 28-year-old male from Walpole Island and a 28-year-old female from Chatham-Kent.

The suspects were located by officers and charged with the following offences:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where they were released with conditions and a scheduled court date for November 18, 2025.

Theft – CK25062815

Date: October 16, 2025, Time: 20:17 hrs., Location: McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg

On October 16, 2025, at approximately 19:07 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of theft from a local retail store on McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg.

Investigation revealed that two individuals, a 46-year-old male from Brights Grove and a 30-year-old female from Sarnia, exited the store with various merchandise without attempting to pay.

Both suspects were located by police and arrested. They were charged with the following offences:

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the store.

The individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where they were released with conditions and a scheduled court date for November 18, 2025.
