The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Arrest, CDSA/Traffic Enforcement – CK25059416

Date: October 1, 2025, Time: 12:58 hrs, Location: Richmond St, Chatham

On October 1, 2025, at approximately 12:58 hrs, officers of Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted a traffic stop on Richmond Street, Chatham.

During the stop for a Highway Traffic Act offence, officers identified a 52-year-old male from London and a 44-year-old female from Chatham, whose vehicle was stopped. The investigations also revealed drug paraphernalia located within the vehicle.

As a result, the two individuals were arrested for the following:

  • Count 1: Possession under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act

The individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where they were released with conditions and a scheduled future court date.

Arrest, Theft – CK25059392

Date: October 1, 2025, Time: 09:57 hrs Location: Wallaceburg

On October 1, 2025, at approximately 09:57 hrs, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report shoplifting at a retail store in Wallaceburg.

Upon investigation, it was determined that the accused a 37-year-old male from Walpole Island, had conceal several items from the store and attempted to exit the store without making a payment.

The accused was located and charged with the following:

  • Count 1: Theft under $5,000
  • Count 2: Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with conditions and scheduled court date.
