The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
Arrest Impaired – CK25054756
Date: September 10, 2025, Time: 17:09 hrs., Location: St. Clair Street, Chatham
On September 10, 2025, at approximately 17:09 hrs. Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a driving complaint on St. Clair Street, Chatham.
Officers located an 80-year-old male from Chatham and conducted a roadside screening test, resulting in a failed test.
The individual was arrested and charged with the following:
- Count 1: Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80 mg
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for additional testing which also resulted in a failed test.
The individual was released with a scheduled future court date of September 24, 2025.
Warrants – CK25054667
Date: September 10, 2025, Time: 09:35 hrs., Location: Grand Avenue East, Chatham
On September 19, 2024, at approximately 2:14 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a break and enter at a local business on Queen Street North, Tilbury.
The complainant was alerted through a security system that an individual was siphoning fuel from a tractor on the property.
Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, a 55-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, crouched behind the equipment with a portable gas tank and siphon hose.
The accused was arrested and charged with the following:
- Count #1 – Break and Enter – Commit
The individual was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a scheduled court date of October 21, 2024, but failed to appear. Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On September 10, 2025, at approximately 09:35hrs, police conducted a person stop, which led to the arrest of the individual who had an outstanding endorsed warrant for failing to attend court.
He was transported to South West Detention Centre (SWDC), where he will remain in custody until his next scheduled video court appearance on September 15, 2025.
Warrants – CK25054772
Date: September 10, 2025, Time: 18:23hr., Location: McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg
On January 26, 2024, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a weapons complaint in Wallaceburg. A firearm was located inside of a residence in Wallaceburg. The accused fled the scene before the arrival of officers.
Further investigations revealed that the accused was bound by a firearms prohibition order and linked to a past interactions of assault involving a victim.
The accused was located and arrested for the following offences:
- Count 1 – Assault
- Count 2 – Careless storage of a firearm
- Count 3 – Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Count 4 – Firearm – tampering with serial number
- Count 5 – Possession of a firearm or ammunition
- Count 6 – Possession of weapon obtained by crime
- Count 7 – Assault contrary
- Count 8 – Assault with a weapon
- Count 9 – Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was released with conditions involving DNA submissions and a scheduled court date of March 26, 2024. The individual failed to attend court, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On September 11, 2025, at approximately 18:23 hrs, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service observed the accused walking on McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg. Officers were aware of his outstanding warrants. The individual was arrested on warrants related to DNA orders, aggravated assault and weapon related offences.
Subsequently, he was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he is currently being held for bail.
