The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.
Assault – CK25050230
Date: August 21, 2025, Time: 13:31 hrs., Location: St. Clair Road, Chatham
On August 21, 2025, at approximately 13:31 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police service responded to a report of an altercation that began as a road rage incident. Two individuals in their vehicles became involved in a dispute that continued into a nearby driveway.
Upon investigation it was determined that during the confrontation a driver, a 30-year-old male from Windsor assaulted the other, resulting in injuries. The victim, a 74-year-old male from Chatham was treated by emergency medical services.
Officers attended the scene and arrested the accused. The individual was charged with the following:
- Count 1: Assault
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with a scheduled future court date of September 29, 2025.
Breach/Assault – CK25050242
Date: August 21, 2025, Time: 13:15hrs., Location: Wallaceburg
On August 21, 2025, Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report that a 43-year-old female from Wallaceburg, who was previously released on conditions including not attending a specific residence or have contact with certain individuals, was observed breaching those conditions.
The individual was captured on video surveillance approaching a residence and engaging in behaviours that violated her conditions. The individual also confronted the complainant which resulted in assault.
Officer attended the scene and arrested the accused. She was charged with the following:
- Failure to Comply x2
- Assault
The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she is currently pending bail.
Bail Violations – CK25050279
Date: August 21, 2025, Time: 1556 hrs., Location: Chatham
On August 21, 2025, at approximately 15:56 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of unwanted communications.
Through investigation, officers learned that the individuals involved, a 32-year-old male from Chatham and a 42-year-old female from Whitby had a history of previous intimate partner violence and were under court-imposed conditions not to have contact with one another.
During the investigation, police developed reasonable and probable grounds to charge the 32-year-old male with the following:
- Count 1: Failure to Comply with Undertaking
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was released with conditions. He was also given a scheduled future court date of September 29, 2025.
The 42-year-old female was charged with the following:
·Facilitating the Breach
Since the individual was outside of the local jurisdiction, communications were sent to The Durham Police Service outlining her release conditions and her future court date of September 29, 2025.
