The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.
Arrest FTC- CK25048121
Date: August 13, 2025, Time: 10:12 hrs, Location: Chatham
On August 12, 2025, a Bail Compliance Officer with the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted GPS monitoring for an accused, a 42-year-old male from Chatham, through an approved program.
A breach was detected through the individual’s tracking data, which revealed that the individual had failed to comply with restrictions outlined in his release order.
Upon further investigation, officers confirmed that the individual had travelled to multiple locations within Chatham, despite conditions which required him to remain in the approved area.
On August 13, 2025, at approximately 10:12 hrs, officers located and arrested the accused. He was charged with the following:
- Count 1: Failure to Comply with a Release Order
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently held for bail.
Impaired Operation – CK25048465
Date: August 13, 2025, Time 19:54 hrs, Location: Chatham Street South, Blenheim
On August 13, 2025, at approximately 19:54 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a report from a concerned employee at a local business in Blenheim regarding a customer who was suspected of being impaired.
Officers located the individual, a 42-year-old female from Chatham and conducted a roadside screening test, which resulted in a failed test.
The individual was arrested and charged with the following:
- Count 1: Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80 mg
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was released with a scheduled future court date of August 28, 2025.
Disturbance – CK25048475
Date: August 13, 2025, Time 20:40 hrs, Location: Coverdale Street, Chatham
On August 13, 2025, at approximately 20:40 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Chatham. A complainant reported that an individual was yelling at two people and making threatening statements.
The accused, a 26-year-old male from Chatham, was located a short distance away and was arrested. He is facing the following charges:
- Count 1: Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Count 2: Uttering Threats – Damage Property
After his arrest, it was determined that the accused was also found to be breaching his release order which required him not to contact or communicate with the specific persons and not to be within a specific distance of their residence.
Subsequently, the individual was charged additionally with the following:
- Count 3: Failure to Comply with Release Order x2
The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he is currently held for bail.
