The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 72 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Key Incidents:
Arrest/Over 80mg – Case# CK25017811
Date: March 28, 2025, Time: 20:26hrs., Location: Industrial Road, Thamesville
Details:
On March 28, 2025, at approximately 20:26 hrs., a 63-year-old male from Wallaceburg was stopped by Chatham-Kent Police Service officers conducting a RIDE program on Industrial Road, Thamesville.
After failing an approved screening device test, he was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for further testing, where he registered a blood alcohol level concentration of 150/150mg which is almost double the legal limit of 80 mg. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired (over 80). The accused was released with a court date scheduled for April 14, 2025.
Arrest/Assault with a Weapon – Case# CK25017991
Date: March 29, 2025, Time: 15:02hrs., Location: Young Street, Tilbury
Details:
On March 29, 2025, at approximately 15:02hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance on Young Street in Tilbury. A 54-year-old male from Tilbury was walking home when he encountered a 38-year-old male also from Tilbury with whom he had a prior disagreement with earlier in the day. As the verbal argument continued on the sidewalk, tensions escalated.
During the confrontation, the older male allegedly pulled out a can of bear mace from his pocket and sprayed it directly into the victim’s face from close range. The victim retreated into his residence while the accused fell to the ground, also affected by the spray drifting into his own eyes.
Both individuals were assessed by Chatham-Kent EMS at the scene and were cleared. Following an investigation, police arrested the 54-year-old male. He was charged with the following:
• COUNT #1: Assault with a weapon
• COUNT #2: Administering a noxious substance
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, processed and held for bail. The follow day the accused appeared before a Justice of the Peace, he has since been released from custody with several conditions and a future court date of April 23, 2025.
Theft- Case# CK25018180
Date: March 30, 2025, Time: 13:26hrs. Location: McNaughton Avenue, Wallaceburg
Details:
On March 30, 2025, at approximately 13:26hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a theft complaint from a retail business in Wallaceburg. Officers located the suspect, a 30-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, riding a bicycle on McNaughton Avenue.
When officers attempted to arrest him, the accused resisted and became confrontational, where officers deployed a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) to safely gain control.
The accused was arrested and charged with the following:
• Count 1: Theft Under $5000
• Count 2: Possession Under $5,000
• Count 3: Assaulting a peace officer- with intent to resist
The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and is currently being held for bail.
