Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 187 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 5 people were arrested.
Warrants – CK24053585
On October 22, 2024, shortly after 10:00am, Officers with the Chatham-Kent Police Service were on general uniform patrol locating a male party whom they believed to have a warrant for his arrest for failing to comply with his probation order.
Through investigation it was determined that the male party did indeed have a warrant for his arrest. Officers stopped the male, determined his identity, and subsequently arrested the male for the outstanding warrant.
The male party was released with a future court date.
Break and Enter – CK24053586
On October 22, 2024, at 10:27am, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a call for service regarding a break and enter complaint at Walker Marine located on Grand Avenue East, Chatham.
Responding officers attended and victims address, locating him, and speaking with him. It was determined through investigation that unknown parties entered a storage facility by breaking a lock and removed an e-bike, and a model motorcycle before leaving the area.

Recovered Motor Vehicle/Theft – CK24053696
On October 22, 2024, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received a call for service regarding a vehicle on fire around sass road within the city of Chatham.
Responding officers attended the scene and located a dodge Ram 1500 on fire on the tracks itself.
Through investigation it was determined that the vehicle (which was reported stolen in previous days) was used in a theft from Walmart on October 22, 2024. Video from businesses in the area showed a Chatham man enter the vehicle in the parking lot and drive away with it and the stolen property from Walmart.
Officers were able to identify the male through video, and attended an address on Thames Street where he was known to frequent.
Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service placed a 48-year-old Chatham man under arrest for possession of property over and under $5000.00. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.
9 p.m. Routine
Every night at 9 p.m. homeowners are encouraged to ensure the following checklist is complete:
– Remove valuables and garage door opener from vehicles
– Lock vehicles
– Close overhead garage door
– Lock door between garage and house
– Close and lock all external doors
– Ensure windows are closed and locked
– Turn on an exterior light.
