Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 206 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Ten people were arrested and four were on outstanding warrants.
Youth Arrested for Bail Violations CK24043161
On September 3, 2024, at 11:19 p.m., police conducted a compliance check on the male youth to ensure he was abiding by a curfew conditions.
Through investigation, offices confirmed the youth was not complying with his release conditions and formed grounds for charges.
On September 4, 2024, at 8:07 a.m., the 17-year-old Chatham youth turned himself into the police. He was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and held pending a bail hearing. As a result, he was released by the court with a future court date of October 7, 2024.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24043313
At 5:07 p.m., police located the woman on Murray Street in Chatham and confirmed she was wanted for not making a court appearance scheduled for that day.
The 30-year-old Chatham woman was transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court, resist arrest, theft, two counts of mischief and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Arrests made in Theft of Gasoline CK24043335/CK24043336
Police have made arrested related to a series of gasoline thefts from local gas stations. The incidents occurred on the following dates and locations:
• August 16, 2024, on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.
• August 18, 2024, on Main Street in Ridgetown.
• August 27, 2024, on Charing Cross Road in Harwich Township.
Through investigation the three theft investigations were connected. The release of surveillance footage to the public let to the identification of the suspects, who subsequently turned themselves in.
On September 4, 2024, at 7:22 p.m., the man and the woman attended police headquarters and turned themselves in to the police.
The 34-year-old Chatham woman is currently facing the following charges: two counts of theft and two counts of possession of stolen property.
The 38-year-old Chatham man is currently facing the following charges: three counts of theft and three counts of possession of stolen property.
Both were released with conditions and a future court date of October 7, 2024.

Man Arrested for Driving Offences CK24043360
On August 30, 2024, at 12:59 p.m., while on general patrol on Longwoods Road, near Communication Road in Chatham, an officer was alerted by the Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) to a vehicle registered to a suspended driver. As the officer conducted a traffic stop the man driving failed to stop and continued driving through a red light.
Following an investigation, the driver was identified and confirmed to be operating the vehicle while suspended.
On September 4, 2024, at 10:40 p.m., police located the man on Queen Street in Highgate and arrested him.
The 39-year-old Highgate man was transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with flight from police and released with conditions and a future court date of October 7, 2024. He was also issued a Part III summons for several Highway Traffic Act Offences, including driving while under suspension.
