Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 183 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Stolen Church Bell RM24001597
On May 13, 2024, police were advised the church bell located in the cemetery near New Life Fellowship church on Goodreau Line in Coatsworth had been stolen.
The bell is described as bronze and approximately 2′ x 2′ in size.

Police Seek the Public’s Assistance CK24028634
On June 20, 2024, at 8:45 police responded to Lake Street in Mitchells Bay, Dover Township for a mischief investigation. A pier was damaged by a small fire.
Through investigation officers learned three teenagers were seen leaving the area shortly before the fire was discovered. Officers would like to speak with these individuals. The teens are described as the following:
1: Teenage male, approximately 5’10” tall, wearing a grey sweater.
2: Teenage male, unknown height, wearing a grey sweater.
3: Teenage female, approximately 6’ tall, wearing a white top and black pants.

Man Arrested on a Surety Relief Warrant CK24028525
At 9:21 a.m., the man attended Chatham Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police. The man had been released by the court with a surety condition. When the surety decided not to participate a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.
The 33-year-old Howard Township man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges stemming from several incidents: assault, arson – damage to property, arson-disregard for human life, two counts of impaired driving, two counts of assault with a weapon, three counts of assault causing bodily harm and four counts of uttering threats.
Man Arrested for Assault CK24028536
At 10:53 a.m., police located the man on Little Street South in Wheatley. The officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant in relation to an April 27, 2024, assault investigation in Wheatley.
The 54-year-old Blenheim man was transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of July 22, 2024. He has been charged with assault.
