Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 203 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people was arrested and three were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Assault CK24028320
At 7:49 a.m., police responded to St. Clair Street in Chatham for a disturbance.
Upon arrival officers located a woman with visible physical injuries. Officers learned the man and woman were engaged in a verbal argument, when the man assaulted the woman.
The 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of July 22, 2024. He has been charged with assault.
Man arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24028338
At 9:45 a.m., police located the man on Lawrence Avenue in Wallaceburg. The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to probation violations.
The 58-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court and failing to comply with a probation order.
Man Arrested for Theft CK24028359
At 11:10 a.m., police located the man on Young Street in Tilbury. The officer confirmed the man was wanted for a June 10, 2024, shoplifting investigation in Tilbury.
The 37-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of July 22, 2024. He has been charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
Man Arrested for Break and Enter CK24028371
At 12:35 p.m., the man attended Chatham Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police. The man was wanted in relation to a March 17, 2024, assault investigation on Talbot Street West in Blenheim.
The 56-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and released with a future court date. He has been charged with assault.
Man Arrested for Assault CK24028451
At 8:50 p.m., police responded to an assault investigation on King Street East in Chatham.
Officers learned a youth was riding a scooter through a parking lot, when a man began to yell at them. The man picked up a discarded piece of wood and threw it at the youth, resulting in minor physical injury.
The man was located a short distance away. Officers also learned he was bound by release conditions, prohibiting him from being outside during that time and possessing any weapons.
The 50-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
