The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events, including arrests, investigations, and other notable occurrences.

Key Incidents:
IPV – Case# CK25020271
Date: April 8, 2025, Time: 20:14hrs., Location: Chatham
Details:
On April 8, 2025, at approximately 20:14hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police service responded to a domestic dispute at a residence located in Chatham.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the dispute involved a 38-year-old male from Chatham and a 36-year-old female from Chatham, who were previously involved in a relationship. The two parties had been bound by a court ordered conditions stemming from a prior incident, including no communication and attendance where the victim is known to be located, including of the victim’s workplace and school. Despite these conditions the accused attended the residence where a verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation and threatening statements were made to the victim. The accused fled the scene but was later located and arrested by the Chatham-Kent Police Service. He was found to be in breach of his communication order, and he was charged with the following:
Count 1: Fail to Comply with Release Order
Count 2: Assault
Count 3: Assault
Count 4: Uttering Threats to Cause Death
The accused is currently being held for bail.
Assault/Assault P.O./Warrants – Case# CK25020277/RM25001249
Date: April 8, 2025, Time: 20:48hrs., Location: Queen Street, Tilbury
Details:
On April 8, 2025, at approximately 20:48 hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an assault at a retail store in Tilbury. A 34-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, who had previously been identified as trespassing on the property, returned and assaulted the business owner in an unprovoked attack. The victim sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
Chatham-Kent Police officers quickly located the accused nearby. He was arrested and transported to the police headquarters. While in custody, the accused became irate and spat on a Special Constable. He was charged with the following:
• Count #1: Assault
• Count #2: Assault Peace Officer
