Break and Enter in Ridgetown- CK26020365
On Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, Chatham-Kent Police received a report of break and enter at a business owned compound located on Spence Line in Ridgetown, that took place sometime over the last month.

Unknown suspect(s) attended the address and cut a fence to enter the compound.

The approximate damage caused to the property is between $5,000 – $10,000. This investigation is still ongoing.

Chatham Man Arrested for Failing to Comply with Release Order and on Outstanding Warrant- CK26020386/CK26020388
On Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, at approximately 11:25 a.m., Chatham-Kent Police Service received a report of unknown individuals wandering around the front of a privately-owned building. Upon arrival, the individuals located in the area were known to police from previous involvement.

Subsequently, police learned that the 32-year-old Chatham man was on conditions to not associate or communicate with the other individual involved in this occurrence, and therefore he was failing to comply with his release order.

Furthermore, it was learned that he also had an outstanding unendorsed warrant for failing to attend court.

As a result, he was charged with the following offences:
• Count 1: Failure to comply with release order contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
• Count 2: Failure to attend court after having appeared contrary to section 145(2)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The man was arrested, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for processing, and held for bail.

Wallaceburg Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant- CK26020397
On Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, at approximately 12:15 p.m., a 33-year-old Wallaceburg woman, located on James Street and arrested on an outstanding warrant in relation to two outstanding charges for theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The woman was arrested under the strength of the warrant, processed, and subsequently released with a future court date.

Chatham Man Arrested for Robbery- CK26020451
On Wednesday, March 22nd, 2026, at approximately 4:25 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a theft at a local business located on Grand Avenue West, which resulted in a staff member being pushed to the ground when they attempted to intervene.

Upon arrival, officers searched the area and observed a male party matching the suspects description on Baldoon Road, Chatham. The suspect fled from police, which initiated a foot pursuit.

Shortly after, one of the officers caught up to the suspect on McNaughton Avenue West, Chatham and the suspect became assaultive and non-compliant with police.

As a result, the suspects non-compliance, led the officer to deploy a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW), to facilitate a safe arrest. The suspect surrendered without incident and was arrested.

Upon arrest, the suspect was identified as a 28-yar-old man from Chatham.

He was arrested and charged with the following offences:
• Count 1: Robbery with violence contrary to section 343(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
• Count 2: Assault a Peace Officer contrary to section 270(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
• Count 3: Assault with intent to resist arrest contrary to section 270(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The man was arrested, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for processing, and held for bail.

Chatham Man Arrested on Warrants- CK26020505
On Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, at approximately 10:40 p.m., a 34-year-old Chatham man attended Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters to turn himself in on an outstanding unendorsed warrant in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation.

The man was arrested under the strength of the warrant and held for bail.

Chatham Man Arrested for Arson- CK26020517
On Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, at 11:50 p.m., Chatham-Kent Police responded to a report of a fire in a car wash bay on Grand Avenue East, Chatham. Upon arrival, the fire had been extinguished by the Chatham-Kent Police Department, and an individual was on scene who had potentially been a victim of smoke inhalation.

A 62-year-old Chatham man was identified by police and was transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance by paramedics for medical assessment.

Subsequently, officers learned via CCTV footage that the man was responsible for the fire.

He was arrested and charged with the following offence:

• Count 1: Arson- Damage to property contrary to section 434 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was released from police custody while at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and was given a future court date.

R.I.D.E Program- CK26020370
The Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted a R.I.D.E (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on the evening of Sunday, March 22nd and early morning hours of Monday, March 23, 2026, in Wallaceburg.

As part of this proactive enforcement efforts, officers checked a total of 80 vehicles; resulting in five Highway Traffic Act warnings and two Provincial Offences Notices issued for not using a seatbelt.
