The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Warrants – CK26019582

Date: March 19, 2026, Time: 09:34 hrs., Location: Grand Ave W, Chatham

On January 9, 2026, the Chatham-Kent Police Service received five separate 911 calls over a period of approximately 65 minutes from the same individual. During these calls, no emergency was reported and the caller failed to provide any valid reason for contacting emergency services.

The investigation revealed that the accused a 46-year-old male from Erieau, was also bound by a release condition prohibiting any contact with Chatham-Kent Police., including 911, unless requesting emergency assistance, reporting a crime or addressing a public safety concern.

As a result of the investigation, officers formed grounds to charge the individual with the following:

  • Count 3: Failure to Comply with Undertaking x 5

Officers attended the residence of the accused and advised him of the breach. The individual refused to surrender and became uncooperative.

Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On March 19, 2026, at approximately 09:34 hrs., the accused was located by Chatham-Kent Police Service Officer on Grand Avenue West, Chatham. He was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant. The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with a future court date of April 27, 2026.

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (P4P)– CK26019796

Date: March 19, 2026, Time: 01:38 hrs., Location: Sterling Line, Wheatley

On March 19, 2026, at approximately 1:38 hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service Officers while on patrol observed a vehicle being operated erratically in the area of Middleton Line and Klondyke Rd in Wheatley. A traffic stop was conducted was conducted.

During the investigation, the driver was identified as a 41-year-old male from Kingsville. It was revealed that he possessed an outstanding warrant and was operating a motor vehicle while under suspension. A 36-year-old female passenger from Chatham-Kent was also located in the vehicle.

As part of the investigation, officers observed evidence consistent with drug trafficking inside the vehicle. A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of the following:

  • Fentanyl (55.3 grams)
  • Cocaine (33.1 grams)
  • Digital scales
  • Measuring cups
  • A cellular phone
  • Packaging materials

The 41-year-old male accused was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Driving While Under Suspension
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking X 2

The 36-year-old accused was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking X 2

The individuals were transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where they are currently held for bail.

Fail to Comply with Probation – CK26019801

Date: March 19, 2026, Time: 01:38 hrs., Location: Fifth Street, Chatham

On March 20, 2026, at approximately 02:21 hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a reported breach of probation.

Investigations revealed that the accused, a 29-year-old male from Chatham, had been attending a residence on Fifth Street, Chatham that prohibited from attending under a court-ordered condition.

Officers attended the location and arrested the individual. He was subsequently charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2

He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with conditions and a scheduled court date of May 11, 2026
