The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.
On January 17, 2026, at approximately 1:45 p.m. an accused entered a residence on Burk Line, Harwich Township through a patio door. Upon entry, the home owner encountered the suspect who then fled the home and left in a vehicle.
Through the use of surveillance footage, the accused was identified as a 57-year-old male from London.
Officers formed grounds to charge the accused with the following:
·Count 1: Break and Enter a place with the intent to commit an indictable offence
Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The accused was located on Elm Street, Bothwell and was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was later released with conditions and a future court date.
On February 14, 2026, Chatham-Kent Police were notified by Recovery Science that the accused had entered Chatham-Kent which was in breach of his release order requiring him to remain outside the Municipality.
As a result, officers formed grounds to charge the accused with the following:
·Failure to comply with a release Order
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On February 26, 2026, at approximately 12:15 hrs, the accused was located on Hagerty Road, Newbury. He was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant. The accused was eventually transported to the South West Detention Centre where he is remanded until his next video court appearance of March 3, 2026.

Date: February 26, 2026, Time: 03:01 hrs., Location: Fourth Street, Chatham
On November 10, 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a disturbance outside a business on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
Investigations revealed that a male accused was disruptive to the business by throwing several items onto the roadway.
Upon arrival, officers located the accused a 36-year- old male from Chatham-Kent on the property. Officers determined that his actions were disruptive to the business and interfered with their lawful use of the property.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following offence:
- Mischief Under $5,000
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where he was later released with conditions and a future court date of December 16, 2025, which he failed to attend.
Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On February 26, 2026, at approximately 3:01 hrs, the accused was located on Fourth Street, Chatham. He was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant. The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with a future court date of March 25, 2026.
