The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 96 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Impaired Driving / Over 80 – CK26011312

Date: February 13, 2026, Time: 15:49 hrs. Location: Winter Line Road, Dover Township

On February 13, 2026, at approximately 15:49 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on Winter Line Road, Dover Township.

Investigations revealed that the vehicle was travelling in and out of lanes, crossing the centre line, and narrowly striking mailboxes. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, a 38-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, was subjected to an Approved Screening Device demand, which resulted in a failure. The individual was arrested for the following offences:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation Over 80 mg

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further testing. The accused breath tests registered as under the legal limit and the accused was later released unconditionally.

Warrant Arrest- CK26011335

Date: February 13, 2026, Time: 17:48 hrs. Location: Princess Street North, Chatham

On February 13, 2026, at approximately 17:48 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a complaint at a residence on Princess Street North in Chatham regarding a disturbance.

Officers attended and spoke with individuals inside the residence. As a result of the investigation, police determined that one individual was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants.

A 40-year-old female from Chatham was arrested on the strength of the warrants and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters.

The accused was wanted in relation to several previous offences, including:

  • Fail to Attend Court
  • Uttering Threats
  • Break and Enter
  • Assault
  • Mischief Under $5,000

The individual was later released with a scheduled court appearance on February 25, 2026.

Disturb the Peace / Weapons Arrest – CK26011629

Date: February 14, 2026, Time: 21:15 hrs. Location: King Street West, Chatham

On February 14, 2026, at approximately 21:15 hrs. members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service were conducting patrols in the downtown area when they observed a group of individuals causing a disturbance on King Street West, Chatham.

This incident followed an earlier disturbance involving the same group in the evening. During the interaction, one individual was observed running in the roadway and jumping fences. The individual later displayed a knife and ran toward an officer before discarding the weapon.

A 19-year-old male from Chatham was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, lodged until sober and later released with a scheduled court date of March 16, 2026.


Intimate Partner Violence Arrest – CK26011645

Date: February 14, 2026, Time: 22:26 hrs. Location: Third Street, Chatham

On February 14, 2026, at approximately 22:26 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service arrested an individual in relation to a historical intimate partner violence investigation in Chatham.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old male from Chatham was arrested in connection with multiple intimate partner incidents.

The investigation determined that the accused engaged in repeated unwanted communication, attended the victim’s residence uninvited, caused property damage, committed assaults, made threats and the use of objects as weapons over an extended period of time.

The accused was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Criminal Harassment
  • Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Mischief
  • Uttering Threats

The accused later released with a scheduled future court date of March 19, 2026.

Fraud / Unauthorized Use of Credit Card – CK26011831

Date: February 15, 2026, Time: 16:42 hrs. Location: Gray Street, Chatham

On February 15, 2026, at approximately 16:42 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service arrested an individual in connection with an ongoing fraud investigation.

The investigation began in December 2025 after police received a complaint regarding the unauthorized use of a credit card. The victim, a 26-year-old male from Chatham reported fraudulent transactions at various local businesses.

Through investigation, officers determined that a 22-year-old male from Chatham had taken the credit card without authorization and made several purchases. The accused later admitted to the offence and was charged with the following offence:

  • Fraud Under $5,000
  • Unauthorized Use of Credit Card

The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and later released with a scheduled court date of March 16, 2026.

Warrant Arrest -Incident Number: CK26011855

Date: February 15, 2026, Time: 18:27 hrs. Location: Victoria Avenue, Chatham

On August 26, 2025, at approximately 18:27 hrs. the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a theft at a retail store located on Wellington Street West in Chatham. An individual entered the store, selected merchandise, concealed the items and exited without making a payment.

Through the use of surveillance footage, the accused was identified as a 34-year-old female from Chatham-Kent. Further investigation also revealed that the accused was also in breach of her probation order.

Officers formed grounds to charge the accused with the following:

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation

Subsequently, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On February 15, 2026, at approximately 18:27 hrs., the accused was located and arrested on Victoria Avenue, Chatham. She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was later released with a scheduled court date of March 3, 2026.

Impaired Driving / Refusal – CK26012044

Date: February 16, 2026, Time: 20:43 hrs. Location: Keil Drive, Chatham

On February 16, 2026, at approximately 20:43 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision involving a car and a tree on Keil Drive, Chatham

Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and the driver, a 19-year-old male from Chatham, who and did not appear to have sustained any visible injuries.

During the investigation, officers formed grounds to believe the driver had been operating a vehicle while impaired. An Approved Screening Device demand was made, however, the driver refused to comply.

As a result, the driver was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired
  • Refusal to Provide a Breath Sample

The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and was later released with conditions and a scheduled future court date.

Impaired/Refusal – CK26012095

Date: February 16, 2026, Time: 14:37 hrs. Location: Greenbriar Trail, Wallaceburg

On February 16, 2026, at approximately 22:53 hrs, a Chatham-Kent Police Service officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Greenbriar Trail, Wallaceburg.

The officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the driver, continued into a nearby driveway before stopping. The driver the refused to provide identification and attempted to flee into a residence.

The individual was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Resisting a Peace Officer
  • Failure or refusal to Comply with Demand
  • Operation while Impaired -Alcohol and drugs

The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for further testing which he refused. The individual was later released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of March 5, 2026.
