The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Arrest/Warrant – CK26010988

Date: February 12, 2026, Time: 16:33 hrs., Location: Taylor Avenue, Chatham

On February 12, 2026, the Chatham‑Kent Police Service was notified by an RCMP Detachment in Nova Scotia that a 41‑year‑old Nova Scotia man had raised concerns about a 48‑year‑old Chatham woman.

The investigation determined that between February 10 and 12, 2026, the accused repeatedly contacted or attempted to contact the victim by phone and email, contrary to her court‑ordered conditions prohibiting any form of communication.

As a result, officers formed grounds to charge her with:

Count 1: Fail to Comply with a Release Order

The accused was located on Taylor Avenue in Chatham, arrested, and transported to Chatham‑Kent Police Headquarters, where she remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Warrants – CK26011037

Date: February 12, 2026, Time: 19:32 hrs., Location: Park Street, Chatham

On June 10, 2025, at approximately 18:34 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a reported theft at a retail store on St. Clair Street, Chatham.

Investigation revealed that a female entered the store, selected several items of merchandise, concealed the items and exited the store without making any attempt to purchase them.

Through the use of surveillance footage, the suspect was identified as a 34-year-old female from Chatham.

Officers formed reasonable and probable grounds to charge the accused with the following offences:

  • Theft Under $5,000 x 2
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Officers located and arrested the accused on St. Clair Street, Chatham. She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was released and trespassed from the business. She was also given a court date of October 27, 2025. which she failed to attend. Subsequently, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On February 12, 2026, at approximately 19:32 hrs. the accused was located on Park Street, Chatham. She was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant. She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date.

Warrants – CK26010918

Date: February 12, 2026, Time: 10:12 hrs.., Location: Wellington Street West, Chatham

On November 30, 2025, at approximately 14:21 hrs, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a stolen phone from a restaurant on Park Avenue East, Chatham.

The complainant, a 26-year-old male from Chatham, stated that he had accidentally left his phone behind at the restaurant. When he returned moments later, he observed several individuals leaving the area and was unable to locate the device.

Through the use of surveillance footage, a suspect was identified as a 33-year-old female from Chatham-Kent.

Officers located and arrested the accused on Park Avenue East, Chatham. She was charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Theft Under $5,000
  • Count 2: Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where she was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of December 19, 2026. The accused failed to attend court on several occasions and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On February 12, 2026, at approximately 10:12 hrs. the accused was located on Wellington Street West, Chatham. She was arrested on a committal warrant for surety relief. The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where she was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date.
