The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) responded to a variety of incidents over the past 24 hours. Below is a summary of the key events.

Arrest/Warrant – CK26010700

Date: February 11, 2026, Time: 10:15 hrs., Location: Murray Street., Wallaceburg

On November 21, 2024, at approximately 8:07 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service officers conducted a traffic stop on Dufferin Avenue, Wallaceburg.

Through investigation officers determined that the driver, a 36-year-old from Wallaceburg was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle and was also under a driver’s licence suspension. The driver also advised officers that he did not possess a valid licence as well.

As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1: Operation while prohibited
  • Count 2: Operation while prohibited
  • Count 3: Driving while under suspension
  • Count 4: Driving while under suspension
  • Count 5: Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence

The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was released with a scheduled court date of January 14, 2025. The accused failed to attend court and subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On February 11, 2026, at approximately 10:15 hrs., the accused was located on Murray Street, Wallaceburg. He was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant. The accused was transported to the South West Detention Centre for his next court appearance scheduled for February 17, 2026.

Arrest/Warrant – CK26010763

Date: February 11, 2026, Time: 15:32 hrs., Location: Wellington St. W., Chatham

On October 2, 2025, at approximately 1:19 hrs., Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a report of threats at a health facility on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

Investigations revealed that a 52-year-old male from Chatham-Kent, had made threats to the facility’s security and a physician and other staff members.

Further investigation revealed that the accused was bound by a probation order issued on September 10, 2025, which prohibited him from attending the health facility except for a pre-scheduled medical appointment or a medical emergency.

As a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Count 1 – Uttering Threats – Cause Death
  • Count 2 – Uttering Threats – Cause Death
  • Count 3 – Fail to Comply with Probation

The accused was transported to the South West Detention Centre. His video court appearance was on October 8, 2025.

The individual was released with conditions which required him to report in person to his probation officers within two days of his release. However, the accused failed to attend and was charged a with the following offence.

  • Count 4 – Fail to Comply with Probation

Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On February 11, 2026, at approximately 15:32 hrs., the accused was located on Wellington Street West, Chatham during a person stop. He was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant for failing to comply with his release order. The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date.

Arrest/Warrant – CK26010820

Date: February 11, 2026, Time: 21:27 hrs., Location: Woods Street, Chatham

On September 6,2025, at approximately 9:30 hrs., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a reported theft at a local retail store on St. Clair Street, Chatham (CK25053747).

Investigation revealed that a male entered the store, selected several items of merchandise, concealed the items and exited the store without making any attempt to purchase them.

Through the use of surveillance footage, the suspect was identified as a 38-year-old male from Chatham-Kent.

Officers formed reasonable and probable grounds to charge the accused with the following offences:

  • Theft Under $5,000 x 2
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Subsequently, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On February 11, 2026, at approximately 21:27 hrs., the accused was located on Woods Street, Chatham. He was arrested on the strength of his outstanding warrant. The individual was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters, where he was later released with a scheduled court date of June 6, 2026.
