On March 11, 2026, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Unit, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), executed a search warrant at a residence on Holden Street in Dresden.
The search warrant authorized officers to search the residence for firearms, ammunition and other items of supporting evidence.
At approximately 6:07 a.m., ERT officers arrived at the residence and called the occupant out of the home without incident. A 70-year-old male from Dresden was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters. No other persons were located inside the residence at the time the warrant was executed.
A systematic search of the residence was conducted by members of the Intelligence Unit and resulted in the seizure of the following items:
-Crossbow
-Ammunition
-Approximately 17 grams of suspected cocaine
-Approximately 12 grams of suspected methamphetamine
-Digital scales
-Canadian currency
-Collapsible baton
As a result of the investigation, the accused has been charged with the following offences:
-Count 1 – Possession Contrary to Order Section 117.01(1) Criminal Code (Crossbow)
-Count 2 – Possession Contrary to Order Section 117.01(1) Criminal Code (Ammunition)
-Count 3 – Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamine) Section 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
-Count 4 – Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) Section 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
