Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 170 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Ten people were arrested and three were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for a Bail Violation CK24047698
At 2:07 p.m., police attended an address on Harvey Street in Chatham with a tip a man wanted for arson was observed walking into the residence.
Officers attended and was provided access to the home. During a search officers located another man hiding in the attic. Further investigation confirmed that on August 19, 2024, the man had been arrested in a mischief investigation and released with a condition prohibiting him from attending that address.
The 34-year-old Windsor man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: mischief and failing to comply with an undertaking.
Man Arrested for Assault CK24047718
At 4:21 p.m., police responded to a family dispute on Park Lane in Tilbury.
Through investigation, officers learned a verbal argument occurred between the man and two adult family members. The argument escalated resulting in the man assaulting both family members.
The 73-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of October 28, 2024. He has been charged with two counts of assault.
Man Arrested for Uttering Threats CK24047753
At 8:14 p.m., police responded to a threats investigation on Middle Line in Tilbury North Township.
Police learned the woman received a phone call from a former partner, during which he made comments with intentions to cause her physical harm.
Ontario Provincial Police located and arrested the man at his home in Cottam.
The 24-year-old Cottam man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He has been charged with uttering threats.
