Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 240 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested and five were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Weapon Offences CK24044436
At 7:39 a.m., police responded to a weapons investigation on Partridge Crescent in Chatham.
Officers were advised a man riding a bicycle was involved in an altercation with a pedestrian, where he was yelling and brandishing a knife.
Officers attended the area and located the man. Upon a search incident to arrest, the man was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and opioids.
The 53-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of October 17, 2024. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24044607
On November 6, 2023, the man was arrested for unlawfully in a dwelling and released with conditions and a court date. When the man failed to make the scheduled court appearance a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
On September 10, 2024, at 1:31 p.m., the 55-year-old Blenheim man was located on St. Clair Street in Chatham and arrested. He was later released with a new court date of October 7, 2024.
Man Arrested for Probation Violations CK24044642
At 3:44 p.m., police located the man on King Street East in Chatham.
The officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for probation violations and arrested him.
The 47-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a probation order.
