Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 174 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Ten people were arrested and three were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK24023325
At 11:45 p.m., police responded to a collision on Park Avenue West in Chatham. A vehicle had struck two other vehicles and left the scene.
A description of the vehicle, including the plate number, was provided to the officer. The officer attended the address and located the driver parking the vehicle. The officer believed the driver was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him. He was transported to police headquarters for tests.
The 63-year-old Chatham man was charged with impaired driving and failing to remain at the scene of a collision. He was released with conditions and a future court date of June 10, 2024.
Man Arrested for Failing to Attend Court CK24023358
At 2:56 p.m., the man attended the Chatham Kent Police Wallaceburg station and turned himself in to the police.
The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to probation violations.
The 33-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and released with a future court date of June 24, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a probation order, driving while suspended and using unauthorized plates.
Woman Arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Harm CK24023379
At 5:36 p.m., the woman attended Chatham Kent Police headquarters and turned herself in to the police. The woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant related toa May 12, 2024, assault investigation on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.
The 46-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and released with conditions and a future court date of June 24, 2024. She has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.
Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK24023409
At 8:41 p.m., police responded to a traffic complaint on King Street West in Chatham. Information was received the vehicle remained stopped at the intersection of King Street West and Lacroix Street as the lights cycled several times. The driver was seen slumped over the steering before exiting the vehicles, failing to put it in park, allowing the vehicle to roll forward.
Officers attended the scene and believed the man driving to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and after refusing to cooperate with a roadside test, he was transported to police headquarters.
The 39-year-old Chatham man was released with conditions and a future court date of June 10, 2024. He has been charged with impaired driving and refusing to comply with a demand. His vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK24023415
At 9:00 p.m., police began a bail violation investigation when information was received a man on a curfew condition was seen outside his residence after his curfew.
Police attended the man’s home and confirmed he was out after his curfew.
On May 24, 2024, at 1:30 a.m., the 23-year-old Chatham man was located and arrested. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He has been charged with failing to comply with a release order.
Man Arrested for Bail Violations CK24023437
On May 24, 2024, at 12:06 a.m., police responded to Inshes Avenue in Chatham to investigation suspicious activity.
Upon arrival, officers located the man and confirmed he had been released by the court with a curfew condition.
The 38-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He has been charged with failing to comply with a release order.
Traffic Enforcement CK24023363
Yesterday at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of the Traffic Management Section conducted traffic enforcement on Pain Court Line in Dover Township.
As a result of the efforts, 10 Provincial Offences Notices were issued in the span of two and a half hours.
