Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 172 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Three people were arrested, and two were on outstanding warrants.
Man Arrested for Conditional Sentence Violation CK24038300
At 9:23 a.m., the man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police. The man was wanted for breaching his conditional sentence order.
The 37-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. As a result of the hearing, he was remanded into custody and transported to Southwest Regional Detention Centre. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 16, 2024, by video.
Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court RM24002644
At 2:35 p.m., the woman attended the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. Officers confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend a previously scheduled court appearance.
The 64-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. As a result of the hearing, she was remanded into custody and transported to Southwest Regional Detention Centre. Her next court appearance is scheduled for August 20, 2024, by video. She is currently facing the following charges: theft, possession of stolen property, and two counts of failing to attend court.
Man Arrested on OPP Warrant CK24038409
At 8:30 p.m., police responded to William Street in Chatham to investigate suspicious activity.
Upon arrival officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on a warrant held by Middlesex Ontario Provincial Police in relation to a break and enter investigation.
The 55-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released to the OPP.
