The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 149 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Seven people were arrested, and four were on outstanding warrants.
Man and Woman Arrested for Intoxicated in a Public Place CK22029345
Yesterday at 4:54 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Upon arrival, police located a woman and man intoxicated and unable to care for themselves.
The 32-year-old Chatham woman and the 41-year-old Chatham man were arrested and transported to police headquarters. They were charged with being intoxicated in a public place and held until they were sober.
Woman Arrested for Theft CK22029356
At 5:54 p.m., police responded to a theft complaint at a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, police learned the woman had previously been trespassed from the business. The woman removed several items from the shelves, concealed them on her person and left the store through a fire exit. She made no attempts to pay for the items.
At 6:40 p.m., the woman was located by the police walking east on Wallace Street. She was arrested, and the items were recovered.
The 30-year-old Chatham-Kent Woman was charged with theft and transported to police headquarters. She was held pending a bail hearing.
