Historical Sexual Assault – CK20022707
In 1989 a man allegedly sexual assaulted a 9 year old boy. In May 2020, police received information of the offence and conducted an investigation in the matter.
Yesterday morning, the 54 year-old Chatham man attended the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters where he turned himself in. He was arrested for sexual assault and sexual interference. He has been released from custody pending a future court date.
Firearms Seized – CK20041745
Police received information that a firearm was being stored unlawfully in a residence in Wallaceburg.
Yesterday morning police obtained a warrant to enter the residence. Police located several handguns in the residence that were not registered to the resident. A 58 year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested for illegal storage of a firearm at unauthorized place and failing to report a lost restricted firearm. He has been released from custody pending a future court date. The firearms have been seized.
Break and Enter in Chatham – CK20041894
Early this morning, an unknown suspect(s), forced their way into a residence on Turquoise Court, in the City of Chatham. From here the suspects fled the residence with a substantial amount of cash.
