The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 164 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Six people were arrested.
Man Charged with Mischief CK20001224
Yesterday afternoon, officers observed a man at the Courthouse who was involved in a mischief complaint at a residence in Chatham.
Through investigation, Clayton Morgan, 43 years, of Harvey Street in Chatham was charged with interfering with the lawful use of property. He was released pending a future court date of January 29, 2020.
Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK20001307
On November 24, 2019 the man was released from Court with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Around 3:30 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed the man walking on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg. Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of a stolen credit card.
The 25-year-old Chatham man has been charged with failing to comply and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
CK20001207 – Yesterday afternoon, police located a woman in Wallaceburg who was wanted in connection with a theft of wallet and iPhone from Circle K on McNaughton Avenue. Mariah Ermatinger. 22 years, of Westcourt Boulevard in Wallaceburg was arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She was released pending a future court date of February 5, 2020.
CK20001260 – Last night, police were called to Value Village in regards to a suspicious woman in the store. Through investigation, police learned that the woman was wanted by Lambton OPP. The 30-year-old Wallaceburg woman was trespassed from the store and arrested on the outstanding warrant. She was turned over to OPP officers for court purposes.
CK20001290 – Early this morning, a woman wanted in connection with shoplifting incidents in Chatham at Shoppers Drug Mart and Canadian Tire along with failing to attend court was arrested in Windsor. Cassandra Thompson, 27 years, of Caron Avenue in Windsor was released pending a future court date of January 29, 2020.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
CK20001217 – Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Marlborough Street between Talbot Street and Catherine Street in Blenheim. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $3000. An 87-year-old Merlin man was charged with failing to yield the right of way.
CK20001242 – Last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Richmond Street near Raleigh Street in Chatham. No one was injured. Total damage was estimated at $3000. A 69-year-old Dresden man was charged with making an unsafe turn.
