The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 176 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 7 people were arrested.
Residential Fire
On the 25th of June 2022 at approximately 0350 hrs the Chatham-Kent Police Service and Chatham-Kent Fire attended Edgar Street in Chatham for a residential fire. Upon extinguishing the fire a deceased person was located inside the residence. Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Major Crime Section are currently working with Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office to determine the cause of the fire. CK22028949 – Overdose
On June 24th at around 2:00pm, police were called to an address on Thomas Av., Wallaceburg, in response to a suspected overdose. Police arrived on scene, administered multiple doses of Narcan, and began life saving measures. The 38 year old female regained consciousness and was transported to the hospital by EMS.
CK22029015 – Impaired by Drug.
On June 24th at approximately 8:30pm, police responded to Queens Line., Chatham, in response to a suspected impaired driver on the roadway. Police searched the area, located the vehicle, and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 30 year old Windsor female, was determined to be impaired by drug. She was arrested and charged. She was also found to be on court conditions to not be in the company of a passenger that was in the vehicle with her. She was additionally charged. The female was then transported to Chatham-Kent police headquarters and held for bail.
CK22029063 – Assault with a Weapon
On June 25th, police responded to an address in Ridgetown in response to a domestic in progress. Police arrived on scene and learned the female had attacked her former partner with a knife. Police located the 30 year old Ridgetown woman and arrested her for assault with a weapon. During the arrest, the female spit in the face of one of the police officers. The female was additionally charged with assaulting a peace officer and held for bail.
CK22029066 – Bail Violations.
On June 25th, at 2:30am police were called to an address on Murray St. in Wallaceburg. The suspect, a 45-year-old Wallaceburg man, was located in the area. Police learned the male was on conditions not to be at the address where he was located. Police attempted to arrest the man and he resisted. Police eventually placed the man under arrest, transported him to headquarters, and held him for bail.
