The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 166 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eight people were arrested. Seven of the Eight people were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Blenheim Male Arrested on Warrant. CK18006321
Last night at approximately 11:30am a 22yr wanted Blenheim male was located by Police and arrested. The Blenheim male was currently wanted by the Chatham-Kent Police Service for failing to attend his scheduled court date. The male was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service to await a bail hearing.
Wallaceburg Male Arrested on Warrant. CK18006341
On January 12th, 2018, a 28yr Wallaceburg male failed to attend Court in Chatham to answer to the charge of Assault. A Warrant was then issued for his arrest. Yesterday at approximately 12:30pm the male was located on Dufferin Street, in Wallaceburg and arrested. The 28yr male was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Head Quarters location and later released with a future court date.
Residential Fire in Harwich Township. CK18006391
Last night shortly after 7:00pm an unoccupied farmhouse was destroyed by a fire south of Blenheim. The cause of the fire has been determined to be electrical. No was injured as a result and damage is estimated at $120’000.
Parking ban in effect for Chatham-Kent for snow clearance
Please remove all vehicles from municipal streets and roads.
Due to heavy snowfall that is falling and predicted to fall over the weekend, a parking ban has been ordered in Chatham-Kent.
The municipality has placed a 72-hour ban on the parking of vehicles on municipal streets and roads so that snowplows can clear away the snow. The ban starts at 10 a.m. today, and will continue to 10 a.m. on Monday.
The parking ban has been declared under Chatham-Kent (traffic and parking) by-law 245-2004, section 218.02 and 218.03.
