Man Arrested for Impaired Driving
On July 8th, 2018 at approximately 7:10 am Chatham-Kent Police responded to a three car collision in the Drive-Thru at Tim Hortons located at 79 Talbot St W. Blenheim. None of the drivers were injured and total damages was estimated at $5500. A 63 year old Blenheim man involved in the collision was found to be intoxicated by alcohol and registered 143mgs and 158mgs of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The 63 year old man was held until sober and released with a court date.
Missing Person Located
On July 7th, 2018 at approximately 7:00 pm a 22 year old Blenheim man took his personal watercraft out on the water. The man did not return and his absence was reported to the OPP. On July 8th, 2018 his watercraft was located in a marsh area near the island of Walpole. Members of the Chatham-Kent Police and Ontario Provincial Police located the man alive and well on a shore line on Walpole.
On July 8th, 2018 at approximately 9:49 pm Chatham-Kent Emergency crews attended an address on Charing Cross Rd. in Raleigh Township. There was extensive damage before the fire was extinguished. The Ontario Fire Marshal Office will be conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire. There were no serious injuries to the homeowners during the fire.
