The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 189 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Four people were arrested.
Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK18030718
On May 30, 2018 the man was released from Court with several conditions. Two of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific Dresden woman or be within 100 meters of her.
On July 2, 2018 the man attended the woman’s residence and attempted to speak with her. As the woman tried to leave, the man damaged her vehicle and grabbed her cell phone preventing her from calling police. The woman drove to a family member’s home for help. The man fled on foot prior to police arrival. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.
Yesterday afternoon, the 23-year-old Dresden man was taken into custody. He has been charged with two counts of failing to comply, mischief over $5000, theft under $5000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. He was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK180330855
On April 26, 2017 the man was released from Court with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Shortly after 2:00 a.m. this morning, police located the man in the driveway of a residence on Park Avenue West in Chatham.
The 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Woman Charged with being Intoxicated in a Public Place CK18030809
Last night, police responded to a disturbance at a motel on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.
A 49-year-old woman was arrested in the parking lot for being intoxicated in a public place. For her own safety, she was transported to police headquarters.
She will be released when sober.
Break and Enter in Chatham CK18030792
Sometime yesterday between 12:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. unknown suspect(s) forced their way into a home on Berry Street and stole various electronics, including a Bose speaker, iPad and iPhones.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK18030716
Around noon yesterday, emergency crews responded to a collision involving a cyclist on McNaughton Avenue near St. Clair Street in Chatham.
The 39-year-old cyclist was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Total damage was estimated at $1500. The collision remains under investigation.
