The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 150 calls for service in the last 24 hours. One person was arrested.
Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK17044077
In March 2016, the man was released from custody on a three year probation order with conditions. One of his release conditions was to abide by a curfew and be inside his residence between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily.
Early this morning just after 1:00 a.m. an officer on general patrol in Chatham observed the man riding a bicycle on the sidewalk along Adelaide Street. A traffic stop was initiated and the man provided a false name to police.
Through investigation, the man’s real identity was learned. The 30-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with obstruct police and failing to comply. During a search incident to arrest, drugs were located on him. Therefore, he was arrested and additionally charged with the following offences:
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (Hydromorphone)
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine)
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana)
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (Suboxone)
The man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
Break and Enter CK17043949
Sometime between Friday, November 10, 2017 and Monday, November 13, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. a building under construction on St. Clair Street was entered. On site, three separate enclosed and secured construction trailers were forcefully broken into and numerous power tools were taken.
The estimated damage amount is $4000 and the monetary amount of stolen items is estimated at $4,600.
