Man Arrested after Pursuit
On August 11th, during the early morning an officer observed a vehicle not stopping at stop signs. The officer attempted a traffic stop but the suspect vehicle fled. After a short pursuit the vehicle came to as stop and a man fled the vehicle. A foot pursuit was then initiated and the man was located and arrested.
A 31 year old Chatham man as arrested for Dangerous Drive, Flight from Police, Drive while Suspended as well as eight additional charges on an outstanding warrants including Fail to Comply with Probation x4, Fail to Comply with Recognizance x2, Theft and Possession of Stolen Property. The man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man Apprehended Under the Mental Health Act
On August 10th police responded to a disturbance on Lacroix St. in Chatham. A Chatham man was located and it was determined the man was suffering from a medical condition. The man was apprehended by police and transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for treatment.
