The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 202 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Five people were arrested.
Men Charged with Failing to Comply CK18026311
In April 2018, two men that are known to one another were released from custody with conditions not to communicate with one another.
Yesterday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. the men were observed together inside the Real Canadian Superstore located at 791 St. Clair Street in Chatham and CKPS was contacted.
The Chatham men, both 22-years-of-age, were arrested and charged with failing to comply with their release condition. They were transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where they have been held for a bail hearing.
Man Charged with Assault CK18026342
Last evening around 6:30 p.m. police responded to an address on Gray Street in Chatham due to a man that was destroying property inside the residence.
As police attempted to aid the man who had a visible injury to his arm, he kicked one officer and spit on two others.
The 35-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with three counts of assault. He was transported to CKPS Headquarters where he has been held for a bail hearing.
Break and Enter in Chatham CK18026253
Sometime overnight between Thursday, June 7, 2018 and Friday, June 8, 2018 an unknown suspect(s) caused an estimated $200 worth of damage to a window of a school on Raleigh Street. The suspect(s) also removed an electronic device from the school.
