The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 167 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Nine people were arrested.
Woman Charged with Failing to Comply CK18036154
On Sept. 7th, 2016 the woman was released from custody with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that she was not to contact or communicate with a specific man.
Yesterday morning, police received a phone call requesting assistance as this female party had been in contact with this male party. She was later located in the residence hiding under the bed.
The 21-year-old woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply. She answered to the charge and was remanded into custody awaiting a bail hearing on Aug 7th, 2018.
Police Investigating Serious Collision CK18036173
Yesterday around 10:24 am, emergency crews responded to a single vehicle collision on Talbot Trail and Stevenson Rd in Romney Twp.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Talbot Trail, when it lost control and left the roadway. A 71-year-old Melbourne man suffered life-threatening injuries.

Man Arrested under the Trespass for Property Act CK18036177
Yesterday around 10:40 a.m., police responded to the Downtown Chatham Centre parkade. Security requested assistance in having a male party removed from the premises who refused to leave the area when directed by security.
Officers located the man who refused to identify himself and was under the influence of drugs. He was taken into custody for his own safety. The 22-year-old man of No Fixed Address was charged
Under the Trespass to Property Act, Section 2(1)(b) for failing to leave premises once directed. He was released later in the evening when sober.
Stolen Truck Recovered in Chatham CK18036218
During the evening of Aug. 1st, 2018 unknown suspects stole a 2004 Chev. van from a business on St. Clair St. Chatham.
On Aug. 4th, 2018 Police received information about the location of the stolen vehicle and a suspect in regards to this theft. The complaint was investigated.
As a result of the investigation a 22-year-old Chatham man has been charged with possession of property obtained by a crime over $5000. He was released with conditions pending a future court date of Aug 21, 2018.
Man Charged with Assault with a Weapon and Weapons Dangerous CK18036231
Last night at 5:20 pm the male and victim were both at a business on Talbot St. W. in Blenheim. The victim was waiting in line to purchase his order when the male lunged at him and stabbed him with a knife. The victim sustained a superficial cut to his abdomen. The male was identified by witnesses and quickly fled the area.
A 21-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and Weapons Dangerous. He was remanded into custody until Aug 7th, 2018 for a Bail Hearing.
Man Charged with Failing to Comply CK18036301
Last night around 2 a.m. officers conducted a vehicle stop on Fielder Ave. in Chatham. The passenger of the vehicle identified himself with a valid Ontario photo Driver’s License.
Police learned that the man was currently bound by a Recognizance of Bail with the condition to be in his residence between the hours of 9 pm and 6 am.
A 19-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply. He was remanded into custody until Aug 7th, 2018 for a Bail Hearing.
